In our classrooms our aim is to focus on the individual needs of each and every student. This is accomplished through low student to teacher ratios, a highly trained and dedicated faculty, open communication between parents and faculty, and by introducing new challenges as soon as the individual student is ready.
Our Casa and Elementary program is firmly rooted in Montessori principles. We respond to each child’s sensitive learning periods during these early school years. Our Montessori trained teachers assist in guiding each student towards independence and ensure that each student is challenged using the internationally respected Montessori Method. Our Grade 1 to 4 Montessori programs are supported by a variety of approaches derived from the large education community. The incorporation ensures a well balanced and strong curriculum delivery.
Our school curriculum aims to develop strong skills in literacy, numeracy, individual and group research and problem solving. The academic curriculum is balanced and complemented by program in Art, Music, Physical Education and Athletics.
The school environment at BGMS is conducive to learning and growing. It is expected that students demonstrate respect for their peers, the environment and teachers. Negative behavior must not affect the learning potential of the child, or hinder the achievements of his/her classmates.
Grace and Courtesy are important components of our programming beginning in the Casa years and extending through all grade levels. Integrity is an important characteristic to be fostered in each student and this should be reflected in each student’s behavior.
Our school environment should always be a positive one for our students. In cases where a student consciously and repeatedly rejects the guidelines set out by the school, the parents will be contacted and strategies will be developed to encourage a positive contribution of the student to the school. Should this fail to be effective, we reserve the right to dismiss any child from BGMS at any time during the school year. Any tuition paid to that point will not be refunded.
